Sizing & Compatibility
Ordering the wrong size is the #1 reason wheel replacements get returned. Spend two minutes with this guide and you'll order the right wheels the first time.
All you need is a ruler (millimeters preferred) and about two minutes.
Lay the wheel flat and measure straight across the center from edge to edge. This is the number that matters most — a 50mm wheel must be replaced with a 50mm wheel. Measure in millimeters if you can; luggage wheels are sized in mm.
Tip: No ruler handy? A US quarter is 24mm wide — two quarters side by side is almost exactly the diameter of a 50mm wheel.
Measure how thick the wheel is from side to side (the width of the tire that touches the ground), and note the diameter of the axle hole in the center. Most luggage axles are 6mm, but 5mm and 8mm exist.
Tip: If the old wheel is too worn to measure, measure its undamaged twin on the other side of the suitcase.
Look at how the wheel attaches. Spinner wheels usually mount with two screws through a bracket; inline wheels sit in a recessed housing on a single axle. Note the distance between mounting holes (center to center) if your wheel uses screws.
Tip: Take a photo of the mounting area before you remove anything — it makes reinstalling much easier.
Match your wheel type and diameter to the right replacement category.
